We are pleased to introduce The Emerging Collectors Salon, a new Align R.O.I. evening series designed to bring artists, collectors, and cultural investors into thoughtful conversation around collecting, access, and the evolving role of patronage in contemporary art.
Guests will be invited into a curated dialogue on collecting, artistic process, and patronage, with Shavon Aja Morris and Troy Hamm of Project Aether , led by Mark Francis.
Our inaugural Emerging Collectors Salon | Houston features the work of Shavon Aja Morris.
Morris approaches photography through collage, reworking found images to rediscover the essence of the Black American woman while layering histories of identity, memory, and representation. Her work has been exhibited at the Houston Museum of African American Culture, the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and the Museum of Craft and Design, and she was recently recognized as a finalist for the global Aperture Portfolio Prize.
Troy Hamm of Project Aether works at the intersection of art, design, and presence, advising collectors with a focus on restraint, resonance, and lasting impact.
Through Project Aether, Troy provides modern and contemporary art advisory across residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces. Grounded in the belief that art shapes relationships, how one sees oneself, how one engages with others, and how space is ultimately experienced, he guides clients toward acquisitions of quiet distinction and enduring relevance. His practice transcends acquisition and advances a more intentional culture of patronage in which collectors become stewards, thoughtfully championing the artists whose pieces live with them and extending their presence far beyond the walls they inhabit.
